Office 2011 Review - Microsoft Office for Mac

So are you thinking about getting a Microsoft Office Mac? There are great deals on the Web, but does  an affordable price mean it is good? Some people have used previous versions of Office Mac before Office 2011 and may not have enjoyed it as much. Some people did not enjoy Entourage, the email client that the Apple had in previous years. It may have improved in 2008, but it is not nearly as good as Outlook in 2011 and we will get into that later. Another thing that predecessors of Office 2011 did not have was the ability to create documents on your Mac and export them your Windows. Compatibility became an issue.

If you start installing it, you will notice that Rosetta – Apple’s binary translator is not needed. The code can run immediately because of a translation program and the translation screens are very easy. Give or take ten minutes and Office for Mac 2011 will have been installed. If the product is in your system for a few days, there are pretty much no updates to input and you are done.

The most prominent features of Office 2011 are Outlook and the Document connection. The other apps contain the ribbon interface that began in Windows as early on 2007 and this looks great on the Apple. You will be accustomed to them if you have been a 2007 or an Office 2010 user. Microsoft has also claimed that the compatibility from Mac to Windows has been ironed out.  Outlook, it seems is here to stay and Entourage is gone. The interface of Outlook looks very neat. As you send or received emails, you get a tranquil sound as a notification and a status bar that shows you the sending progress.

For Office 2011, you can view your attachments in Outlook via the Apple Quick look. This is the hub of other things including Out of Office options, calendars and Public folders. These seem to work to your advantage. Messages are stored singularly. The Conversations view displays the message in a singular view.

If you are only using Office Student 2011, then you will still get the benefits of working on a Mac. If a Microsoft Office Mac is what you need for your Apple computer, then go for it! It is the bridge between the productivity suite of Windows and the Apple. Microsoft has always worked towards improving its platforms and Office 2011 is certainly no exception.
